About HIE Signs Hunter Valley
HIE Signs commenced operations as Hunter Industrial Engravers in Cessnock in 1989. We started from humble beginnings in a small backyard shed where it produced engraved labels.
In 1993, the name of the business changed to better suit our core business…sign design and manufacturing!
In 2007, HIE Signs moved into a newly constructed factory at 33 Bradmill Avenue, Rutherford. Centrally located in the Hunter Valley, HIE is located 40 minutes from Newcastle, 20 minutes from the vineyards (Pokolbin) and 1 hour from the mines at Muswellbrook.
HIE Signs is a locally operated family business owned by the Nelson family, employing locally qualified staff with extensive product knowledge. The combined expertise of our staff exceeds 150 years. We are a competent team who completes your signage job ‘on time, everytime’.
HIE Signs is fully equipped with the latest in digital printing and CNC routing technology, and is able to meet your needs on time and within budget.

Community
At HIE, we truly care about the community we live in. That’s why we are proud to be sponsors of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and the NSW Rural Fire Service, with some of our employees being volunteer fire fighters, for the service.

Our HP Scitex FB550 UV printer, is the latest in printing technologies, allowing us to print on a multitude of surface types and offering the highest levels in print quality, teamed with the latest in UV technologies. It produces striking indoor applications—including advertising banners and promotional displays—that can influence shoppers’ decisions, along with eye-catching outdoor signage and billboards to grab attention from afar.

Installation Truck
To better service our customers, HIE’s – ALL Weather 4x wheel drive – 6 tonne installation truck, allows us to install our signs in difficult places, punching holes into the ground, with minimum impact to the surrounding environment. So weather is no longer an issue, with the truck being fitted out with all the latest in OH & S requirements. At HIE we want to deliver your sign on time and safely!
