HIE Signs Warren Redmond

Hie signs then known as Hunter Industrial Engravers, started operation in Cessnock in 1989 in a small backyard shed where it produced engraved lables. Over the next 4 years signage started to take over as the primary product produced by the company and Qualified Signwriters were employed to keep up with the demand.

In 1993 the company moved to a larger location with a shop front at Maitland Road Cessnock where the name changed to hie signs as to better describe what the business was now doing most of, signs! Hie signs concentrated on the local coal industry as its main source of trade and by 1997 had opened a shop at Muswellbrook to be closer to the majority of our clients. During this time the company were one of the first to go digital anywhere in Australia and since has always been at the forefront of signmaking technology.

As the Sydney Olympics were getting underway in 2000 hie signs moved both the Cessnock & Muswellbrook operations to Maitland in an old National Textile Warehouse where it operated until june 2007. Since then hie signs moved to a purpose built factory at 33 Bradmill Ave Rutherford where we have setup a streamline workflow to get product to the customer even faster than before.

The future looks bright for hie signs and new sign technology changes daily the company looks forward to new innovative products for years to come.
